Three pupils at Lea County Primary School have come out tops in a safety poster design competition run by Garstang-based Marcus Worthington Group.
Posters designed by Georgia Moffatt, Michael Davies and Sarah Jane Chadwick were judged to be the best of those submitted by Year 5 andYear 6 pupils from the school. The three winners won for WH Smith as their prizes.
The competition was judged by Councillor Julie Buttle and all the of the entries are now on display at Ashton Bank, the Marcus Worthington Group development in Ashton-on-Ribble
The competition is just one part of a new partnership between the school and Marcus Worthington Group.
The developer has supplied hi visibility safety vests to keep the children visible on dark nights when walking home from school and representatives from the company have visited the school to talk to the pupils about health and safety on building sites.
Peter Percival, site manager at Ashton Bank delivered the talk and was joined on the day by Ivor Goodsite, the Marcus Worthington Group mascot.
Peter Percival said: “The children gave us a great welcome at the school. They were really enthusiastic and learned how building sites can be dangerous places unless you follow all health and safety rules carefully.
“The competition entries were of a really high standard because the children had listened so well when we visited the school earlier.”
