Would be first time buyers in Preston can buy one of theNorth West’s most environmentally friendly homes at a significantly reduced cost,thanks to a new partnership between the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and Garstang-based developer Hollinwood Homes.
The HCA’s FirstBuy scheme for first time buyers is nowbeing offered on 20 of the new homes available at Ashton Bank, the hugely successful Hollinwood Homes development in Ashton-on-Ribble.
The homes available under the scheme, like all of theproperties at Ashton Bank, have been built to Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The development is the only one of its kind in the region to be built to such high environmental standards with the new homes being 44 percent more efficient in terms of insulation and energy use than those built to existing building regulations. That means cheaper energy costs, which can be a key issue for people buying their first property.
With FirstBuy, purchasers only have to find 80 per centof the purchase price in order to own a new home at Ashton Bank*. The other 20per cent is covered by an interest free equity loan** that only has to berepaid after 25 years or when the homeowner sells the property.
One and two bedroom apartments and three bedroom townhouses are among the properties being offered under the FirstBuy scheme atAshton Bank.
